The Basque Government has asked the UPV/EHU for "agility, transparency and rigour" to review the Euskera exams of the University Access Test, after several students reported receiving a zero.
In this regard, the Government of Vitoria-Gasteiz will hold an emergency meeting this afternoon with the Rector of the UPV/EHU, Joxerramon Bengoetxea, to address this issue.
In particular, the Education and University Counsellors, Begoña Pedrosa and Juan Ignacio Pérez Iglesias, will meet with the rector.
The spokeswoman for the Basque Government, Maria Ubarretxena, has stated that she understands the concerns of the families concerned and has recalled that the correction of the examinations belongs to the UPV.
"We now expect rigour, transparency and agility. The review procedure is open and must be conducted with the greatest guarantees. The two advisers have requested an urgent meeting from the rector, which will take place this afternoon," he explained.
He has also called for this controversy not to be used to "attack the Euskera."
