A man has been arrested in Legutiano for brutally assaulting his partner
The victim had to be taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries sustained.
Early on Sunday morning, the Ertzaintza learned of an alleged assault on a house in Legutiano (Álava) where the victim and alleged aggressor lived together, and patrols arrived at the site found that the woman was outside the house and showed obvious signs of an attack, while the suspect was inside the house.
In the absence of any result from the man's attempts to leave the house, the owner of the house has authorized the officers to enter the house using the necessary force, and the alleged aggressor has finally been located in a room in the house.
In view of the injuries suffered by the woman, the officers have arrested her partner as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of gender-based violence. The detainee, of Latin American origin, has been transferred to the premises of the Ertzaintza, where he remains until the completion of the police proceedings and is brought before the court.
The 39-year-old victim, also of Latin American origin, has been taken to a hospital for medical care for injuries sustained.
