The fire brigade in La Rioja has declared the fire in Ezkarai stabilized after burning 115 hectares of bushes and trees, according to data from the Rioja Government.

It appears that the fire in the village of Ayabarrena, part of Ezkarai, was caused by lightning during last Thursday's storm.

The five people living in the village were confined to their homes, but then moved to Ezkarai.

The Mansilla de la Sierra City Council has banned bathing in the swamp because it is receiving air vehicles that are working to extinguish the fire.
