Mitoaroa III will be a "futuristic and vindictive" show
The Zetak group appeared today in Bilbao to give some details about the show "Mitoaroa III" that will open in two months, on 19 and 20 June at the San Mamés stadium in Bilbao.
Prior to the press conference, a sample of the show that will be "futuristic and vindictive" has been shown in the Gran Vía de Bilbao to the public: characters linked to rural carnival and figures from the Mitoaroa IIIuniverse have appeared, and the head of Zetak, Pello Reparaz, has addressed the public to promise to play a couple of songs.
The group, which aims to bring together 80,000 fans in two days (2,000 tickets remain for Friday and Saturday tickets are exhausted), has advanced that "it is a collective experience that combines music, storytelling and technology to ask a contemporary question: who we are and where we are going."
Mitoaroa IIIwill offer "a narrative universe located in the future", according to Reparaz, with new characters and "marked by constant control, power relations and supervision in the Basque Country." It will address contemporary issues such as identity, technology or the relationship between humanity and digital development, "they added.
Mitoaroa IIIseeks to place the Euskera "also in the realm of ambition, contemporaneity and public space, not only in the realm of memory or resistance".
700 people will work that day, Reparaz explained, and the Bizkaia Council will contribute 1,000,000 euros to both concerts, as detailed by MP Elixabete Etxanobe.
