Protest called for Thursday in Pamplona against the act of ultra activist Vito Quiles

Various groups, unions, youth movements and pensioners have called for a rally this Thursday, October 15, at 5.30 p.m. in Pamplona Castle Square , in the same place where the far-right activist Vito Quiles has planned another event. Quiles will beginhis tour  'Mafia o Aberria' in Pamplona. 

The Vito Quiles event will take place at 6 p.m. in Castle Square. Almost a year ago, on October 30, 2025, Vito Quiles called for a new event in Pamplona, which finally had to be suspended due to riots and protests.

The groups calling for the mobilization against Quiles have today read a statement in Spanish and Basque in Pamplona Castle Square announcing the protest.

"We are currently within a reactionary wave that seeks, on the one hand, to curtail rights by targeting the most precarious sectors and, on the other hand, to suppress the grass-roots classes, both socially and nationally. In this context, it is important to de-normalize the presence of characters who legitimize and reinforce these ideas," said Sabino Cuadra, a former member of the Amaiur coalition and a member of the LAB union.

According to the note read, "in Euskal Herria we know very well what the criminalization of anti-fascism is. For years, and decades, thousands of cases of repression have been experienced. In Euskal Herria we have more than once formed a wall of containment against fascism, and the state apparatus has targeted it. "
