Pradales and Sanchez will discuss Social Security and investments in the electricity grid at tomorrow's meeting
The Bilateral Transfer Commission will meet tomorrow in Madrid to move forward with the outstanding transfers. They will also address the officiality of the Basque Country in Europe, the creation of the European Atlantic Macroregion, the connectivity Euskadi and migration.
The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez , is meeting this Tuesday with President Imanol Pradales to make progress on outstanding transfers at the Moncloa Palace.
They will also address issues related to investment in electricity networks to ensure the future of the industry, migration management, the creation of the European Atlantic Macroregion, the officiality of the Basque Country in Europe and the connectivity of the Basque Country.
The Bilateral Commissionwill examine, inter alia, the transfer of the Social Security economic regime. Both sides seem willing to move the negotiations forward and for the Basque Country to take over all employment policies and the payment of benefits.
The previous committee, chaired by the two leaders, held on 27 November last year, agreed to the transfer oftwo new competences : Coastal Management and Management and Film and Audiovisual Activity, as well as a commitment to support the creation of the Atlantic Macroregion and to the European institutions on the official status of the Basque Country and migration policy.
Presidential sources have confirmed that Pradales wants to discuss the redeployment of funds from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
