The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, on Monday called for Israel not to be able to participate in international sporting competitions "for as long as the barbarity continues" in Gaza.
At the meeting of the Interparliamentary Committee in the Congress of Deputies, in the presence of the Socialist Members, Senators and MEPs, Sanchez expressed his unease at the way in which Russia was expelled after the invasion of Urraina, because the same is not done now with Israel.
"Our position is clear and firm, until the end of the barbarism, neither Russia nor Israel should take part in any more international competitions," he said in Madrid, the day after the riots in the last stage of the Return to Spain, which forced the end of the Return to Spain to be suspended on Sunday and in which two detainees and about 20 policemen were injured during the protests along the way.
