The Deputy Security Officer Ricardo Ituarte has condemned this morning's riots in Vitoria-Gasteiz, in which 19 people have been arrested and20 Ertzainas have been slightly injured, as well as significant material damage.
The riots took place at noon in the Plaza de la Provincia, just after the start of the rally called by the Spanish Falange for "unity", which soon spread to several streets in the centre of the Alavesa capital, where containers have been burned.
Ituarte strongly condemns what happened: "These are very serious events that run counter to coexistence and have no place in our society. The Deputy Security Minister also stressed: "We would like to express our solidarity with the injured Ertzainas and with all those who have been affected in one way or another by the disturbances caused by these radicals."
