Pello Alcantarilla has filed a torture complaint against Colonel Perez de los Cobos

TheBasque Observatory for Human Rights will request the reopening of the case of torture of former ETA prisoner Pello Alcantarilla against Colonel Diego Pérez de los Cobos Guardia CivilGuard.
As reported in a statement, Alcantarilla has concluded that the complaint made at the time has "full credibility"following a"thorough investigation".
Alcantarilla was arrestedby theCivil Guard on 3 October 2004 while working as a trucker in Burgos under the so-called 'Operation Sanctuary', a police operation in which numerous weapons attributed to ETA were disbanded.
The detainee, who was held incommunicado for four days and tortured, has now been asked to reopen the case for torture filed by the National High Court in 2005.
