Puigdemont holds the PSOE responsible for the breakup and announces that Junts has moved to the "opposition"

The former president of the Generalitat and leader of Junts, Carles Puigdemont, has held the PSOE responsible for breaking the agreementthatallowed the investiture of Pedro Sánchez and has announced that the party  will "oppose".   JxCat's management has unanimously decided to break its agreements with the PSOE at its meeting in Perpignan.

After the meeting, Puigdemont appeared before the media without questions, where he explained that this decision was taken "because the Socialists believe that they have no will to implement political agreements in time and form".

Puigdemont has explained that, in the middle of the legislature, his party has made an assessment of their relations with the socialists since the signing of the Brussels Agreement that allowed the investiture of Pedro Sánchez. 

In his words, Junts does not trust the government of Sanchez. "Perhaps there is personal confidence, but not at the political level," he said. Thus, in choosing between the PSOE and the PP, Junts "chose the PSOE" and has reproached the PSC for "choosing" the popular in the City of Barcelona.

Similarly, has stated that "there has been no result that justifies and considers valid the path opened two years ago with the PSOE", referring to "catalanization", "passivity before divestment" or "the collapse of public services".

Puigdemont warns the President of the Spanish Government that from now on he will no longer be able to have the majority that allowed the investiture: "He will be able to occupy the poltrons, but he will not be able to govern. He will be able to have power, but he will not be able to use the government."  calls on the socialists to "reflect" and "respond to the citizens how they want to continue." 

For its part, the Spanish Government has shown its utmost respect for its leader, Carles Puigdemont, afterconsidering the agreement with the PSOE to be broken, although it has stressed that it has an outstretched hand and will continue to work 'from vote to vote'.

In an urgent response, government sources have reiterated their commitment to dialogue to reach agreements. 

In the same vein, PSOE sources have pointed out that they understand politics as an instrument for building bridges, and it will remain so, recalling that the government and socialists "have complied with what was agreed "when always was in their hands."
