Spain closes its airspace to aircraft participating in the Iranian war

The Spanish Government has ordered the closure of the country's airspace for aircraft participating in Operation Epic Fury launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on 28 February.
As a result of this ban, these aircraft will not be able to take off or land from State territory, nor will aircraft departing from British and French bases be able to enter Spanish airspace.
The government denied the U.S. military the possibilityof using the Rota and Moron bases for this operation, a decision that provoked U.S. President Donald Trump's anger andthreatened to cut trade with Spain .
However, the Spanish Government remains firm on the slogan "No to war." The Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles , has reported that "from the very beginning" the States conveyed to the United States the Government's position and has reiterated that this war is "absolutely illegal and unjust."
The PSOE defends the decision to close airspace as a "coherent measure." The deputy spokeswoman for the Federal Executive Committee, Enma López, has said that "we will take the no to war to the very end."
For her part, the People's Party spokeswoman in the Senate, Alicia Garcia, has accused the government of "pretending" and "improvising."
