Following the adoption of theproposalto give legal certainty to the Basque Country in the Public Employment Offers (OPE) , a political debate on this measure took place on Saturday in the "Parliament in the Waves"programme of Radio Euskadi , with a view to the plenary session of Parliament scheduledfor 25 June .
In this regard, thePNVmember of parliament Ainara Zelaia recalled that the jeltzale proposal has passed the parliamentary committee procedure and is therefore continuing, and explained that the aim of the initiative is to strengthen the use of the Basque language in the public administration, ensuring the "legal certainty" of job calls.
Zelaia has stated that the PNV has "all avenues of dialogue" open to reaching agreements in the final phase of parliamentary proceedings and has reiterated that the reform does not seek to change the current system. In this context, the proposal seeks "to maintain and further develop the model of Euskaldunization".

The PSE-EEMP , Maider Lainez, has criticized the PNV's decision to process the bill "unilaterally and ignoring the warnings we are giving."
Lainez has warned that the process "breaks the agreements we had recently", both in the Employment Act 2022 and in the Normalization Decree of 2024, "when all these judicial problems existed." He has therefore ensured that the Socialists are "far removed" from the proposal.
