The Basque Government expects to receive new proposals from the Spanish Government on transfers on Friday
Spokesman Ubarretxena has stressed that the bilateral commission on the two competences under negotiation (some Social Security competences and ports) should be held before August.

In this regard, the spokeswoman forthe Basque Government, María Ubarretxena, said on Tuesday that they expect to receive a proposal from the Spanish Government on Friday.
At the press conference following the Governing Council, Ubarretxena stressed that negotiations have not been interrupted and that "every day" is being discussed with the competent ministries. Last week Ubarretxena acknowledged that negotiations are not going well. Earlier, President Imanol Pradales also acknowledged thatthe Basque Government was colliding "with a wall".
"We will receive the new proposal from the state on Friday, so we will wait for it," Ubarretxena added.
To this day, the bilateral competition commission between the Basque Government and the Spanish Government is still pending before August , which is the deadline agreed by the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, to reach an agreement.
However, the President has said that this bilateral meeting will not take place unless there is an important agreement.
