Gogora denounces threats from Spanish Falange to the Ertzaintza

Alberto Alonso, director of the Gogora Institute for Memory, Coexistence and Human Rights, reported on Thursdaythat they had filed a complaint with the Ertzaintza about the "threats" received from the Spanish Falange, who sent them a message saying, "We are watching you."

Alonso appeared before the media at the institute's headquarters in Bilbao to report on the latest threat received by Gogora last weekend and the complaint lodged with the Ertzaintza.

  
According to the director of the Basque Memory Institute, they have received a message that reads: "Falange stalks you." This email was sent from an email address with the names and surnames of a candidate for the municipal elections.

"As the Institute for Memory, Coexistence and Human Rights, we want it to serve as a speaker and a denunciation, as we saw a few days ago,of the impunity  that threatens journalists, "he said.

Moreover, it has ensured that "there is no room for impunity in the Basque Country "and that it is spreading a "bifocal look" in society , which "responds clearly and forcefully to violent gestures and threats emanating from a certain political spectrum and, when intimidation and threats come from the opposite pole, some, if not justified, minimise this course of action".

The threat comes six months after the Gogora Institute opened a criminal case against the Falange, which has beenaccusedof violating the Historical and Democratic Memory Act  at a demonstration called on October 12, 2025, with expressions and cries against the victims of the Civil War, as well as praising the military coup of 1936.
