The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has denounced Netanyahu's decision as contrary to the opinion of the International Court of Justice.

On Thursday, the Israeli authorities arrested at least seven people in demonstrations against the military invasion of the Gaza Strip and used cavalry and water cannons to disperse mass protests.

The protests have been attended by relatives of survivors and abductees in Jerusalem, who have called for an agreement to free them and end the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian enclave, among others.
