The erotic function of ChatGPT will not be fired until OpenAI improves the assistant
The technology company has decided to postpone this function without specifying the date so that accredited adult users can access erotic content. They want to prioritize improvements in the intelligence and personalization of the system.
The technology company OpenAI has decided to postpone the launch of the so-called "adult mode" for the conversation assistant ChatGPT to improve the intelligenceof the system, advance personalization capabilities and develop a more proactive user experience.
The company led by Sam Altman introduced this new chatbot option in October last year, which will allow accredited adult users to have erotic content in their conversations, linked to the introduction of a new age control system that will identify when the assistant interacts with minors.
Initially, this function was scheduled for December 2025. Subsequently, OpenAI's CEO of applications, Fidji Simo, explained that the goal was to expand in the first quarter of 2026 to improve the system's age prediction mechanisms. However, an OpenAI spokesman has now confirmed that the company has decided to postpone the project again in order to prioritize the most important developments for most users.
According to statements by journalist Alex Heath in his Sources newsletter, the company wants to devote its resources to improving the intelligence of the model and advancing its personality capabilities, as well as deploying personalization tools.
OpenAI also wants the interaction with ChatGPT to be more proactive so that the assistantcan better anticipate the needs of users.
For the time being, the deployment of the "adult mode" remains at a standstill until further notice, as the company has not specified a new date for dismissal or how this function will eventually be incorporated into the service.
