The Provincial Councilof Bizkaia proposes an average increase in tolls for toll roads of 3.5%. For example, in cash, this means that cars and motorcycles will pay two cents more on the AP-8 motorway between Bilbao and Amorebieta; four cents more on the Supersur variant; and five cents more on the Artxanda tunnels.

2026 has been updated by the Council, and the above is one of the measures included in the draft Foral Decree . The increase will apply to the AP-8, the Galdakao-FP border section, the AP-8, the MHS, the Bilbao-Santurtzi section, and the tunnels of Artxanda.

In addition, the fee for the use of the foral network for heavy goods vehicles will be updated. The new fee will be applied in five sections: AP-8 , from Basurto to El Hay; N-240, from Urgoiti to the variant of Ubide; N-636, from the border with Gipuzkoa to Durango; N-637, from Cruces to Erletxes; and BI-625, from Laudio to Basauru.

Another of the main innovations is that the new decree includes the abolition of the so-called 'Tariff 0'  , which is in force at night in Supersur, in the tunnels of Artxanda and in the section of Iurreta-Abadiño of the AP-8, in order to speed up traffic and prevent the accumulation of vehicles in the accesses during changes in slots.

Finally, higher bonuses will apply to heavy vehicles with lower emissions.

The Department of Infrastructure and Territorial Development has just begun the process of public presentation of the draft Foral Decree, which is expected to be approved by the end of the year.
