ELA and UGT, which make up the trade union majority of Avanza , and the management have signed a pre-agreementthat puts an end to the labour dispute in Lurraldebus. Two other unions on the works council, Aurrera and LAB, have not signed the pre-agreement.
According to the pre-agreement signed, the agreement shall be in force for five years (2023-2028) and, among other improvements, a reduction of the working day by 2026, 2027 and 2028 to 7 hours and 20 minutes, thus reaching 1,628 hours per year by 2028.
With regard to the wage increase, a total increase of 12.10 per cent is planned for 2023, 5.4 per cent for 2024, 3.1 per cent for 2025 and 3.6 per cent for 2023, which means, according to UGT, that workers will "receive arrears".
The MP for Mobility, Tourism and Management of Gipuzkoa, Azahara Dominguez, has expressed her "satisfaction" with this pre-agreement because "the workers of Avanza will improve their working conditions ".
Dominguez has applauded the "discreet and continuous" work that has been done over the past year and has stressed that the mediation of the Department of Economy, Labour and Employment of the Basque Government has been "essential" to "bring positions closer together and facilitate the understanding of the parties".
Azahara Dominguez has acknowledged that "it has been difficult months, there have been many strike days, a situation that has created awkward situations and uncertainty between workers and citizens "and has" sincerely "appreciated" the patience and understanding shown during this time. "
In this regard, he recalled that in these two years the Council has renewed more than 65% of the buses that make up this concessionaire, and has carried out 'constant monitoring and control'. As a result, in Dominguez's words, "the incidents we had in 2023 have dropped considerably."
