Another day of strike in Tubos Reunidos, coinciding with the negotiating meeting of the file
Workers have to make a 24-hour stop this Monday to put pressure on management and improve the conditions of the ERE.
The workers of Tubos Reunidos have called for a new day of strike on Monday, the day of the second meeting between the workers and the management to continue the negotiations on the employment regulation dossier, which includes the dismissal of 274 workers in Amurrio (Álava) and 27 in Trapagaran (Bizkaia). On the 17th, at the first negotiating meeting, they went on strike and will do the same on 26 February and 4 and 9 March.
Last year, Tubos Reunion recorded losses of EUR 71.3 million, which is in addition to theEUR 250 million debtaccumulated in recent years.
Last week, theBasque Governmentdeclared that it is ready to support a solid future industrial project for Reunited Tubes, but the feasibility plan for this project depends on the company being able to restructure its debt, bearing in mind, moreover, that the drain is increasing.
Management proposal
The management of Tubos Reunidos has put onthe table to the unions an ERE (LEE) that involves the dismissal of people 301 from the plants of Amurrio and Trapagaran The proposal includes, among other things, the possibility of pre-retirement from the age of 60 and voluntary expulsions.
Since the announcement of the regulatory dossier\u00A0for the second time meeting of the management and staff committee, 274 are planned at the Amurrio plant and 27 at the Trapagaran plant.
The main points of the company's proposal are:
- Pre-retirement: the possibility of pre-retirement from the age of 60; up to the age of 63, the worker would receive 60% of his gross salary, and from that age, compensation of 20 days per year for a maximum of 12 payments.
- Contingent staff: 25 days compensation per year worked, for a maximum of 12 payments.
- Voluntary redundancies: 30 days compensation per year worked for a maximum of 18 payments.
The unions have not accepted the management's proposal and have described it as ridiculous. They have explained that they will not make an assessment of the measures. "We were told it would be a generous proposal and we have seen it," saidAndres Garcia Tubos Reunidos, chairman of the Amurrio Workers' Committee.
