The Basque Government approved the 2026 call for theEmancipation Programme on Wednesday, with the novelty that it will increase the age range. From now on, young peoplebetween the agesof 23 and 29 will be able to benefit from this assistance.
The deadline for submitting applications will be 12May and will be closedon 30 November , provided that the funds are not exhausted earlier. The assistance is a direct paymentof 300 euros/month , which can be received in a maximum of 24 months and is intended to help cover the cost of rent or mortgage.
The Counsellor for Welfare, Youth and Demographic Challenge Nerea Melgosa has specified that the Government will allocate a totalof €36.25 million until 2028 (13.9 million in 2026, 15 million in 2027 and 7.35 million in 2028).
Conditions
Young people with an annual income of more than EUR 3 000 and less than EUR 30 000 (up to EUR 36,500 if a joint declaration is made) will be eligible for aid.
