The workers of the Tubos Reunidos plant in Amurrio (Álava) will return to work on Monday (in the turn of six o'clock in the morning) after the indefinite strike they have been carrying out since 16 March to protest against the ERE presented by the management.
The unions decided to suspend the strike on Friday, a week after the assembly in which a group of workers voted to return to work, a position rejected by ELA, LAB and ESK, which have a majority on the works council, and have now agreed to return to work, but this decision has not been voted on among the workers, which has led to disagreements among the workers.
The Commission, however, does not rule out resuming future stops, and for the time being two days of strike and mobilisation have been called for 26 and 28 May.
The return also comes a few days after the Vitoria-Gasteiz Commercial Court approved the voluntary competition of creditors requested by the company.
On the 26th, the judge summoned the competition administrator, management and trade unions to consider possible measures.
In the opinion of the trade union representatives, the measures proposed by the company when entering the competition phase are suspended, but "are not definitively withdrawn".

The management of Tubos Reunidos has reported that the situation is very complicated and that if conditions do not arise for someone to be willing to invest, the creditor competition could leadto the cessation of activity and the termination of all employment contracts.
The entire group consists of 1,300 workers, of whom 870 are in the main factory in Amurrio.
