The one-year rate of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the Spanish state rose in July to 3.5%, according to provisional data released this Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

The increase in prices is mainly due to the increase in fuel and electricity prices over the same month last year.
Underlying inflation rises to 3%
On the other hand, underlying inflation (excluding energy and fresh food) rose by a tenth in July to 3%, making it six tenths lower than the overall CPI.
The July advance will be confirmed by the National Institute of Statistics on August 13.
