There are still six active fires in Castile and Leon, none of the most serious, and one in Almeria, in the municipality of Lubrin.
Civil Protection stressed on Saturday that the evolution of forest fires that have not yet been extinguished in Spain is "very good" and announced that, thanks to the weather conditions of the last few hours, the worst wave of fires in the country's history is coming to an end.
This was expressed by the Director of Civil Protection and Emergencies, Virginia Barcones, during her hearing following the meeting of the State Coordination Commission (Cecod).
He explains that there are currently seven active foci, none of them of the highest gravity, namely six 2nd degree fires in Castilla y Leónand one 1st degree fires in Almería, in the municipality of Lubrin.
Asfor the fires in Leon and Zamora, the Civil Protection Officer has stressed that the situation is "very satisfying" and that they are on their way to stabilization thanks to the weather.
In connection with the fire inLebrin, Almería, Barcones has been cautious, because according to the weather forecast the wind will intensify.
So far , five people have died as a result of the fires.
