The Ertzaintza has arrested a 23-year-old in Irun for robbing homes. Apparently, the robber used the nights to enter the houses, where the occupants slept.
The incident occurred in the Lapitz neighborhood in the early morning hours of Wednesday, when a homeowner surprised the robber.
Although the suspect has fled at the time, he has been located and arrested in the Urdanibia neighbourhood, and the police investigation has identified him as a thief specializing in this type of crime, since he is associated with 14 robberies committed in Irun, Donostiaand Legorreta.
Since the end of 2024, the Ertzaintza has detected an increase in the number of this type of crime in several neighbourhoods of Irun, where detainees climbed from balconies and entered their homes at night.
The judge has ordered his imprisonment after the police proceedings have been completed.
