The Ertzaintza will launch a speed control campaign next week
In 2024, 32 per cent of people killed in road accidents on Basque roads died in accidents related to inadequate speed.
The Ertzaintza will increase vehicle speed control with a new campaign next week, from 22 to 26 September.
The Ertzaintza, in coordination with the local police, will monitor compliance with speed limits in order to reduce the number of deaths and injuries and accidents on the Basque road network.
Controls shall be carried out at high-speed risk intervals and at points where there is a high accident rate above the established limit.
This operation is part of the calendar of 32 Traffic and Transport Surveillance and Control Campaigns scheduled throughout the year.
