The Basque Government will install 38 new ATMs in rural villages
The conditions to be met by these municipalities are: 300 inhabitants being, being the nearest cashier 8 km or receiving more than 100,000 tourists a year.
Over the next three years, an automatic box will be installed in 38 rural villages of the CAPV to improve the services available to its inhabitants. Landa is the first step in the Berosi programme launched by the Basque Government to promote the area and presented this Tuesday by the Food, Rural Development, Agriculture and Fisheries Counsellor, Amaia Barredo, at the press conference following the Council.
The last list of localities that do not have an ATM in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa exceeds 60. With the aimof combating the financialexclusion experienced by their inhabitants, the Vitoria-Gasteiz Government will invest 1.15 million euros to install 38 ATMs in as many localities.
These municipalities must meet the requirements of having more than 300 inhabitants , of having their nearest cashier at 8 km or more, or of receiving more than 100,000 tourists a year.
Barredo has explained that 96% of rural residents will be able to access the service and the rest will be able to improve the service.
It is one of the projects included in the 2030 Rural Development Strategy and the Territorial Development Programme (TDC) for the conservation, development and improvement of rural areas.
