AP-8 is closed in Deba due to a truck fire in the Irun sense
The fire broke out around 14:00 in a truck, and traffic is being diverted along the N-634 road, while firefighters are working there.
A fire in the semi-trailer of a lorry has forced the AP-8 motorway to be cut off in the Irun sense as it passes through Deba. Traffic is diverted along the N-634 road and there are eight kilometres of withholding, according to Basque Government traffic sources.
The fire started around 14:08 in the semi-trailer of a truck driving along the AP-8 motorway, at kilometre 55, in themunicipality of Deba .
Firefighters have moved to the scene and are working to extinguish the flames and clear the area.
As a result of the accident, the motorway is cut off in the Irun senseand traffic is being diverted to theN-634 at the Elgoibar toll , resulting in long delays of between seven and eight kilometres.
The Department of Traffic of the Basque Government recommends drivers to avoid the area and use alternative routes while continuing to put out and clean the fire.
