A truck has set fire to the Aginaztegi tunnel on the AP-8 motorway and the road is cut off at 12:15 in Astigarraga (Gipuzkoa) in the Irun sense. The accident took place at 11:18 a.m. For unknown reasons, a lorry travelling at this point has been set on fire. The driver has been able to flee and has been unharmed, as confirmed by the Department of Safety.
Ertzaintza, Bidegi and firefighters are still working to extinguish the fire.
As a result of the incident, access to the AP-8 in the Irun sense has had to be cut off and several interruptions to Bilbao have also been made, although traffic in this direction has returned to normal.
