This week there have been 889 cases of influenza, of which only 6.2% have been hospitalized, compared to 10% last week, a decrease that shows that vaccination can reduce serious cases.

On Saturday,the DepartmentofHealth called on citizens under 60 years of age, and especially children , to go and vaccinate against influenza, which has already vaccinated 460,264 people and has increased to 60% among those over 60.
According to data provided by the Department of Health, 889 cases of influenzahave been recorded this week, of which only 6.2 per cent have been hospitalized, compared with 10 per cent last week.
The incidence of the disease has been 158 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with Bizkaiawith 237 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Gipuzkoawith 78 cases and Álavawith 54.
So far there have been 3573 cases of influenza in the Basque Country, 359 of which have had to be treated in hospital.
