Five points of sale of counterfeit luxury items have been dismantled in Irun
The operation, known as' Fake Star ', has been carried out in four establishments in Irun, in the Behobia neighbourhood, and five persons have been investigated as alleged perpetrators of an intellectual property offence.
Five points of sale of allegedly counterfeit products have been dismantled in Irun (Gipuzkoa) and 1,327 luxury items, textiles and footwear from well-known international brands have been seized, thevalue of which is EUR 686,785, calculated at the actual market price of the original items.
The operation, known as' Fake Star ', has investigated five persons as alleged perpetrators of an intellectual property offence, the General Directorate of the Civil Guard reported in a statement.
Among the material seized are the real bags of brands Goyard, Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent; sportswear identified with the logos of Lacoste and Audi; sports shoes with alleged labels of Nike, Asics, New Balance, Adidas and The North Face; and imitations of high-end watches of Rolex and Richard Mille models.
Tax specialists from the Gipuzkoa Civil Guard Command and other units, as well as experts in counterfeiting who have previously conducted technical assessments in these establishments, have participated in the device.
All seized material is in police custody for expert examination and is in the possession of the judicial body.
The specialized agents of the Prosecutor and Border Section of Irun will continue to investigate to determine their origin, distribution routes and possible connection of counterfeiting to import and marketing networks, as explained by the Civil Guard in its note.
Investigation Court No. 2 in Irun will investigate this case.
