The Basque Government expects almost half of the measures of the Health Pact to be implemented by 2026
The department headed by Alberto Martínez highlights that next year will be key to developing the measures agreed in the Treaty.
The Department of Health of the Basque Government has today sought to take stock of theBasque Health Pact , six months after the adoption of thestrategic lines , defined by the agents. The Health Counsellor, Alberto Martínez, has stressed that44 % of the total number of initiatives agreed (from 332 to 171) will be developed next year, so that 2026 will be key in the implementation of the pact.
Martinez has explained that important advances have been made in the areas of oncology, cardiovascular diseases, cronicity and the digitization of health, where measures are most developed. In the area of citizen care, the ERANTZUN platform has been launched, which plans toopen a WhatsApp channel by 2026 to enable direct communication between Osakidetza and citizens.
In the field of technology, the agents agreed to use artificial intelligence and automation to optimize the processes and results . In line with this, they have begun to identify the areas of care for their application and will then begin to redefine and incorporate new professional profiles.
From an organizational point of view, Osakidetza will have two new sub-directorates , one related to mental health and socio-health, and the other to strategic projects and communication, and the Development and Training Subdirectorates will change their name and assume language policy.
There is more: Health psychologists will be incorporated into the Primary Care teams and the HAURSARE project will be launched, an initiative that will respond to the cronicity of minors and the comprehensive care of minors with serious or terminal diseases .
As of January, will hold information and participation workshops at the OSIs in Osakidetza, so that health professionals can make proposals. In the opinion of Counsellor Alberto Martínez, the Pact will establish "the beginning of a new era in understanding, managing and caring for the health of all people in the Basque Country".
