Fallen trees, landslides and water rafts on Basque roads as a result of the storm
In Bizkaia, road BI-2405 is closed to traffic as it passes through Mendexa due to the fall of a tree and part of the electricity grid to the road. On several secondary roads in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa there have been small landslides and water rafts everywhere.
The storm of wind and rain has caused incidents on Basque roads, mostly secondary roads.
In Bizkaia, the BI-2405 road (linking Berriatua and Lekeitio) is completely cut off from Mendexa , as a tree and part of the electricity grid have fallen on the road, according to the Department of Safety and Security to EITB.
Specifically, the Bizkaia Fire Department has reported 19 interventions in the last 12 hours, which have stabilized buildings in Muskiz and Sondika due to wind damage and removed trees that had fallen on the road in Getxo, Sopuerta, Artzentales, Nabarniz, Ondarroa or Sondika.
Small landslides have occurred on secondary roads in Gipuzkoa, such as the GI-3411 off Hernialde and the GI-3620 in Alzo, and water rafts on the GI-2634 in Albiztur.
