The perpetrator of the macho murder in Sarriguren remains at the headquarters of the Foral Police

The man who killed his wife in Sarriguren (Navarre) and seriously injured his mother remains at the Foral Police Station awaiting a statement before the judge.

According to judicial sources, the case will be investigated by the Pamplona Special Court on Gender Violence.

Yesterday, hundreds of people, anonymous citizens and institutional representatives of all political parties, took to the streets during the rallies held in Eguesibar and Pamplona to condemn the macho murder.

Thefirst machista murderof  in the Basque Country this year has been that of Sarriguren, which has left four minor orphans.

Mom, out of danger.

The events took place around 7.30 p.m. on Friday afternoon in the house that the couple shared on Navarre Avenue in Sarriguren. The marriage wasinthe process of being separated  and there was no complaint against the man, so the victim was not involved in the VioGen system.

The injured woman, a 59-year-old woman,was taken to the Navarra University Hospital  in a serious condition, although she has evolved well and isnot at riskof death.

After the attack, the alleged murderer fled the house, but was arrested shortly thereafter by the Egüés Valley Local Police. The Foral Police have opened an investigation to clarify the facts and the judge has declared the case secret.
