The number of citizens wishing to live in a pluralistic Basque Country has risen to 77.8%
According to Ikuspegi's latest report, 24.2 per cent of the population admitted to having witnessed some form of discrimination in the last year and 14.6 per cent acknowledged having suffered some form of discrimination, especially when seeking employment or rental housing. The most discriminated groups are gypsies and migrants, according to the survey.

There has been an increase in the number of citizens who want to live in a pluralistic society in the CSC and 77.8% are currently in favour of diversity, according to the latest Ikuspegireport, which also shows that three out of four citizens consider discrimination to be a significant social problem in the Basque Country.
Nerea Melgosa, Counsellor for Welfare, Youth and Demographic Challenge of the Basque Government, Marian Iriarte, Vice-Rector of Institutional Relations and Culture of the UPV/EHU, and Julia Shershneva, Director of Vision, presented this week the 'Survey on Perceptions and Attitudes of the Basque Country to Discrimination (EPADE) 2025'.
The report shows that "the vast majority of Basque people are in favour of diversity". Since the previous report, the percentage of people who are in this position has increased by 1.4% and currently stands at 77.8%.
According to the director of Ikuspegi, "47m4% of citizens believe that discrimination is a fairly or very important problem in Basque society." "Citizens are more open to diversity in areas of daily coexistence (household, employment, home), but this attitude is more closed in intimate or family areas, such as sentimental relations with individuals belonging to specific groups or social groups," he said.
