Sare and the Pirates of San Sebastian call for a mobilization on 14 August in support of Basque prisoners, refugees and deportees
Sare Ciudadano and the Pirates of San Sebastián will be mobilising on 14 August within the Big Week of San Sebastiánin support of Basque prisoners, refugees and deportees. The two agents have organised the initiative together for the first time and have called on the citizens of San Sebastián and Gipuzkoa to participate in the mobilisation that will depart from the Pier at 7.30 p.m.
At a hearing this Wednesday in the port of Donostia-San Sebastián, Sare and the Pirate Shibaro of Donostia-San Sebastián have decided to join forces this year and organize a joint mobilization to stress the need for a "comprehensive solution" to the consequences of the conflict.
According to them, "the solution to the suffering suffered by this people and the consequences that still persist has taken too long," and they therefore consider it essential to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
Both actors recall that for years they have been calling for the return home of Basque prisoners and refugees, calling for an end to suffering, denouncing the political use of victims and demanding recognition of victims who have not yet been recognised.
Need to reach the goal
They also point out thatthey want to set a deadline for all the work done and that the aim is to ensure that next year's Big Week in San Sebastián does not have to organise such a mobilisation, which, in their view, would show that the dispute that has been going on for many years has finally been resolved and that 'the goal' has been achieved.
Finally, they call on the citizens of San Sebastián and Gipuzkoa to participate in the mobilisation, considering that it is the responsibility of society as a whole to contribute rather than put obstacles in the way.
In this regard, they have stressed that it is "more necessary than ever" to put an end to suffering and to put an end to the issue of Basque prisoners, refugees and deportees.
