IV. International Conference on Development Financing. This week there will be a conference in Seville
The main outcome of the summit will be the political declaration known as the 'Seville Commitment', the document marking the international community's road map on development financing, which is expected to be adopted at the opening plenary session.
From Monday until 3 July, the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development of the United Nations (UN) will be held in Seville, attended by fifty Heads of State and Government and heads of economic and social organizations, with the aim of promoting multilateralism through the so-called 'Seville Commitment'.
The Seville Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions (FIBES) will host the summit, the last of which was held in 2015 in Addis Adeba, Ethiopia.
More than 200 official delegations from South Africa, Kenya, France, Mauritania, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, the European Commission and the Council of Europe, the Member States and international financial institutions, including the International Development Bank (IDB), the European Investment Bank (EIB) or the World Trade Organisation (WTO), and more than 4,000 representatives from the business, civil and academic sectors, are expected to be present.
The main outcome of the summit will be the so-called 'Seville Commitment' , a document which will mark the international community's road map on development financing and which will be adopted at the inaugural plenary.
In addition, the 'Sevilla, action' platform will be launched to channel initiatives by voluntary coalitions of countries and private sector actors and civil society that wish to implement sustainable development measures.
