Jazz in San Sebastian by Pat Metheny, Diana Krall and Marcus Miller
The 61 San Sebastian Jazz Festival will impregnate the city with music from 22 to 26 July. In San Sebastian, 12 stages will be set for a total of 77 concerts, 47 of them free and 30 Basque groups.
The Kursaal Auditorium will host four major meetings on 23, 24, 25 and 26 July: Samara Joy (18:30), Nils Petter Molvaer (18:30), Pat Metheny Side-Eye III+ (18:30) and Diana Krall (17:30); tickets for the last two performances (70 euros) are sold out.
In the Trinity Square, the program will be: David Murray + Joe Lovano's Paramount Quartet (July 23, 21:00), Azar Lawrence + Cécile McLorin Salvant (July 24, 21:00), Charles Tolliver + Marcus Miller (July 25, 21:00, with tickets exhausted) and Vincent Peirani + Erik Truffaz & Antonio Lizana.
Marcus Miller will perform We Want Miles!, and Erik Truffaz and Antonio Lizana will perform special New sketches of Spain concerts in honor of Miles Davis, while Azar Lawrence and Charles Tolliver will pay tribute to John Coltrane.
Free programming will include Lisa Ono, Annie & The Caldwells, Marco Mezquida, Boskote Astor Piazzolla, The International Classic Jazz Allstars and Amphitrio, among others.
On the beach of La Zurriola you can also enjoy ETS (22 July 23:30), Kokoshca (24 July 21:00), Nøgen (25 July 21:00) and Hofe (25 July 23:30), among others.
The San Sebastian Jazz Awards will be awarded to saxophonists David Murray and Joe Lovano and Miguel Martín, who lead the Jazz Festival from 1984 to 2026.
