The former Economic Development Advisor led by Iñigo Urkullu will hold a symbolic position in the PNV within the reconfiguration promoted by Aitor Esteban.
The PNV has decided to place former Counsellor Arantxa Tapia at the head of the Sabino Arana Foundation, replacing Mireia Zárate, an appointment that will be ratified by the board of the entity and that reinforces the new internal balance promoted by Aitor Esteban since he was appointed president of the EBB last March.
Tapia, 62, born in Astigarraga, served as Counsellor for Economic Development, Infrastructure and Environment during the three terms of office of Iñigo Urkullu, who after leaving active politics in 2024 has served as a strategic adviser in the private sector.
His appointment as head of the foundation dedicated to the promotion and research of Basque nationalism recognizes Esteban's career and his role in the internal process that put him at the head of the party. Tapia will participate this Wednesday in his first act as president at a seminar on the law of official secrets.
