The Public Prosecutor's Office has asked the Supreme Court to overturn the sentence against former Spanish Attorney General Alvaro García Ortiz for alleged violation of his fundamental rights.
The Supreme Court imposeda two-year disqualification forthe position of Attorney General of the State , as well as a fine of 7,200 euros for publishing the reserved data of Alberto González Amador (partner of Isabel Díaz Ayuso).
After the Supreme Court conviction , Garcia Ortiz resigned on November 24.
The jury (five out of seven judges)found it proven that he or someone around him had leaked to the Ser Chain an email from Gonzalez Amador's lawyer acknowledging that he had defrauded the Treasury and committed two tax offences.
Two other judges cast anindividual opinion , which states that it cannot be considered proven that the e-mail was leaked by García Ortiz.
