In this context, he has highlighted his leadership and involvement in regaining popular illusion, as well as his work at critical moments such as the 1983 floods.
Lehendakari Pradales has also stressed that Garaikoetxea defended the path of dialogue, democracy and ethical principles against violence, referring to dictatorship and ETA terrorism.
In his speech, Pradales also recalled his commitment to a pluralistic and cohesive Basque Country and his drive to revitalize the Basque Country as the centrepiece of the Basque cultural identity.
