The PNV asks Sanchez to call elections if the budgets are not approved
Jeltzales accuse the government of losing its parliamentary majority, and Sanchez says he will negotiate with the parties to get the accounts through.
The PNV spokeswoman in Congress, Maribel Cowero, has asked the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, to present the 2027 State General Budgets and, if he does not get sufficient support to approve them, to call elections.
Cowboy conveyed this request to the government during the monitoring session and told it that it is "swimming in the last length of this legislature." He also warned that it is "obvious" that he has lost the parliamentary majority that allowed his investiture.
In this regard, he has asked Sanchez to clarify whether there is a real will to submit new accounts and has ironically explained that talking about budgets seems "a rarity" given the judicial agenda surrounding Sanchez, and in Cowboy's view, "the World Cup will not have a chance to turn it off either."
However, the PNV spokesman has said that it is necessary to have budgets that make it possible to make forecasts, that allow to developmeasures related to the Basque industry, energy, self-employed, families and dependency .
Parallel budgets
In his speech, Cowboy accused the government of drawing up a "parallel budget" without parliamentary debate and pointed out that if Sanchez wants to approve the new accounts, he will need to talkto the parliamentary groups because the political and economic context has changed.
On the other hand, Pedro Sánchez has acknowledged the situation of the parliamentary minority of the government and has announced that he will have to talk to groups willing to "work, negotiate and agree" on new budgets.
The President has also argued that the budgets will be consistent with the social policy of the government, with energy and digital transformation, with compliance with fiscal rigour, and that this legislature is characterised by the need to implement European funds, to implement the amnesty law and to deal with the consequences of international crises.
"Silence" the Parliament
At the same session, PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo called Pedro Sánchez a "coward "and accused Parliament of"shutting its mouth" and "afraid of democracy" , after the PSOE and Sumur blocked the debate on some PP and Junts amendments.
Feijóo has also criticized the government for cases of corruption affecting his environment, while Sanchez has defended the continuation of the legislature and ensured that the elections will be held in 2027 .
The President of the Government, for his part, has accused Feijóo of placing himself in a position of moral superiority. He has also vindicated the management of the government, highlighting the data on growth, employment and the reduction of inequality, and has accused the PP of opposing measures such as the increase in pensions and the social shield.
Give gas to the right.
In his turn, the leader of Podemos, Ione Belarra, has accused Pedro Sánchez of "betraying" voters and giving "gasoline" to the right in court cases affecting the PSOE, including the investigation of former President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
Sanchez, who has defended the management of his government and highlighted data such as the increase in Social Security membership, the increase in the minimum wage and the increase in pensions, has also denied that the legislature is exhausted and has vindicated the social policies of the executive, ensuring that the fight against corruption has also improved.
