PNV and EH Bildu have reached an agreement to push through the reform of the public employment law
EH Bildu will abstain tomorrow, Thursday, in the Basque Parliament, thus allowing the amendment of the law promoted by the PNV to be approved, and both groups have also agreed to jointly monitor its implementation and effectiveness.
PNV and EH Bildu have reached an agreement tomorrow, Thursday, in the Basque Parliament to push through the reform of the Public Employment Act. The agreement reached provides for the abstention of EH Bildu and will allow the amendment of the law promoted by the PNV to be approved.
In early June, EH Bildu abstained and allowed the processing of the PNV-LED legal reform . Since then, both parties have continued to negotiate with the aim of reaching an agreement.
Both parties have now agreed to push through the amendment of the law proposed by the jeltzales and to set up a monitoring committee to analyse its implementation and effectiveness, which will meet regularly and systematically.
In this committee, PNV and EH Bildu will jointly analyse whether the law strengthens legal certainty, ensures the linguistic rights of citizens and allows the linguistic planning of administrations to be applied in a proportionate, reasoned and effective manner.
