PP communities refuse to discuss the care of migrant minors in Ceuta at the next Sectoral Conference
The Sectoral Conference on 27 August will be the first to be held in Ceuta since the massive influx of foreigners and the transfer of an extraordinary credit of EUR 25 million to Ceuta linked to the care of unaccompanied migrant minors.
The Autonomous Communities governed by the PP have refused to include on the agenda ofthe next Sectoral Conference on Children and Adolescents a pointof information and debate on the care of unaccompanied migrant minors in Ceuta and the situation in the autonomous city.
This happened this Thursday at the Sectoral Committee to prepare for the next Sectoral Conference, which brought together the advisers in the field and set 27 August as the date for the meeting, the Ministry of Youth and Children reported.
This morning's meeting was attended by representatives of the Directorates-General for Children of all the Autonomous Communities except Aragón, Castilla y León and Extremadura, where Vox has responsibility for child care, which had previously announced that it would not attend the meeting.
The reasons for not attending include the system proposed by the Spanish Government to relocate children and adolescents arriving in tense areas such as Ceuta to other communities for more appropriate care, as well as the EUR 25 million that the Spanish Government will allocate to the urban autonomy of Ceuta for the care of minors.
According to the agenda agreed this Thursday, the transferof this extra EUR 25 million credit will be voted on at the Sectoral Conference on 27 August.
In any event, the Minister for Youth and Children, Sira Rego, who will preside over the Sectoral Conference, shall again propose the inclusion on the agenda at the beginning of the meeting of the item on care for children and adolescents remaining in the urban autonomy, which shall be put to the vote.
The Autonomous Communities of Vox with competence in the field of children have already advanced that they will no longer attend themeeting, while all the communities governed by the PP have finally participated, although some of them had not previously communicated their position, citing as grounds for participation their responsibility and support for Ceuta, but at the same time making clear their opposition to the model of relocation of minors and to the migration policy of the Spanish Government.
