The Basque Parliament will hold a full case study on public safety at the request of the PNV and the PSE
The Basque Parliament will hold a full case study on the stateof public security , challenges and policies in the Basque Country, at the request of the PNV and the PSE-EE.
Both parties have registered a request in Parliament for the debate to start with the conclusions of the Basque Security Forum (Basque Security Forum) and serve as a guide to the future Comprehensive Security Plan 2026-2030.
"In the face of those who deny security problems and those who use them politically, we believe that things have to be talked about as they are. There are security problems that we have to accept in order to be able to solve them, because well-being is also quiet walking on the streets," explained jeltzale Joseba Díez Antxustegi.
For her part, the socialist Mira Gallastegui argues that "security policies must be built from rigour, without denying the concerns that exist in society, but not over-dimensioning or fuelling alarmist speeches."
The PNV and the PSE-EE believe that the full case study should serve to achieve a shared diagnosis , set priorities and reach broad agreements onthe security model for the Basque Country in the coming years.
The debate will begin with the conclusions of 33 meetings held at the Basque Security Forum, attended by nearly a thousand people, including representatives of institutions, police and emergency services, social organizations, economic actors, educational agents and associations.
