The President , Imanol Pradales, has scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, the next round of contacts with political parties and social partners to begin the political year. He will receive the trade union majority, ELA and LAB, in Ajuria Enea. The General Secretary of LAB, Garbiñe Aranburu, will be the first to meet with the lehendakari (11:00).
A "hot" autumn is planned for the two nationalist unions, the issue of the Minimum Wage(SMI) medical strike and the tax reform , among others, on the table. There are other thorny issues: the Institutional Participation and Social Dialogue Billpromoted by Vice-President Mikel Torres . The Labor and Employment Counsellor has been tightened up by the two unions, who have denounced that the preliminary draft is not going to the negotiating table.
ELA's Secretary General , Mitxel Lakuntza, has announced that he will call on lehendakari to "change the orientation of public policies" and "involvement" in resolving open conflicts in the public sector. With regard to the minimum wage, he will once again ask Confebask to put pressure on him to sit down and negotiate.
Garbiñe Aranburu(LAB) has acknowledged that she is going to the assembly without "much hope." In her opinion, the lehendakari has "failed" to develop policies in favor of workers, and has given as an example the sterile negotiation of the SMI. "We have been trying to meet Mikel Torres, Vice-President, for months, eta does not give us an appointment," she has denounced.
After meeting with union representatives, the President of Confebask, Tamara Yagüe, will receive the President of Confebask on Tuesday, when the round of contacts will be completed.
