The 43-year-old man, who is being held in pre-trial detention without bail by court order, according to the investigation, after initially escaping in a vehicle, walked and traveled the mountain along part of the route between Azpeitia and Ondarroa during the 48 hours they searched for him.

The 43-year-old man turned himself in early Saturday morning at the Ondarroa police station and has since been at the disposal of the police. At the time of his arrest, the man had a weapon, although it is not yet known whether it was the same one he used in the murder. 

The alleged murderer, a 43-year-old man, turned himself in early Saturday morning at the Ertzaintza police station in Ondarroa and was seized of a short firearm he was carrying.

The fire, which originated in the afternoon on the second floor, caused significant damage and will now be reviewed by City Council technicians to determine the measures to be taken and to investigate the causes of the fire.

A fire broke out this afternoon in a house on Erdikale Street No. 27 in Azpeitia, which broke out shortly after 3 p.m. on the second floor of the building, forcing the residents of the area to vacate. The neighbours on the third floor have not been able to leave by their own means and have been rescued by the fire brigade.
