Civil Protection has ordered the eviction of four urbanizations in the municipality of Querol (Tarragona) as a result of the fire in Aiguamurcia and has ordered the eviction of some 300-400 residents. The fire has already burned more than 114 hectares in the area of the Vall de l'Ainfern and entered the municipality of Pontos (Barcelona).

Dozens of people have been injured and about 20 are in critical condition. Authorities are working to identify the victims and believe the fire was caused by a short circuit in an air conditioning unit. 

A total of 7,000 hectares have been burned and 12 people have been killed and 18 injured, five of them seriously.

Araba will remain alert for the risk of forest fires. Despite the warning level, there will continue to be embarrassment: highs will be around 30 degrees Celsius along the coast and 37 to 38 degrees Celsius inland.

It appears that the fire in the village of Ayabarrena broke out on Thursday from a thunderstorm.

The Andalusian Government has maintained the call for citizens to remain in their homes.

The fire started shortly before 5 p.m. on a cereal field just 10 kilometres from Pamplona/Iruña, and as a preventive measure the AP-15 has been cut off in both directions and the power supply of the nearby catenary railway has been cut.
