The objective of the award is "to bring to the present day the extensive and innovative work carried out by Lourdes Iriondo in the revitalization of the Basque Euskera and Basque culture, and to do justice to ensure that his legacy occupies the place he deserves in the history of the territory".

Extinction work is currently under way in the municipality of Fasgar (Leon), where thousands of hectares of fire have been burned, with a capacity of 1,000 litres.

Gure Zirkua received this afternoon, at an event held at the top of Arrate (Eibar), this year's Abbey Award for offering an entire community "an innovative place to live and feel together in Euskera."  The memory of the Abbey Award has been received by Deputy General Eider Mendoza – sculpture Seven Petalos by Iñigo Aristegui.

One more year, Emakunde, MPs and Eudel have launched a youth campaign to identify, combat and promote a climate of respect and security in festive areas, under the slogan "Build with respect, enjoy without fear."
