The Basque and Polish governments are committed to promoting Europe's strategic autonomy

The urgent promotion of Europe's strategic autonomy, the promotion of industrial competitiveness and the growth of 'together' has been one of the main keys to the future of the Euskadi-Poland Forumdrawn up this Monday by the Basque Government and the Polish Government.
They have also stressed that a 'united, industrially sound and technologically incompetent Europe' is essential, especially given the problems and risks posed by dependence on external actors in order to obtain the goods, technologies and basic resources necessary for the development of these areas.
The meeting in Bilbao has also discussed cooperation in marine wind energy and clean technologies, aerospace technologies and intelligent and logistical infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by numerous business and institutional representatives, including the Industry Advisor of the Basque Government, Mikel Jauregi; the Polish Minister of Economy and Finance, Andrezej Domanski; the Polish ambassador to Espina, Monika Krzepkowska; and the President of the Poonia Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), Andrzej Dycha.
The event has been closed by President Imanol Pradales, who in his agreement has called for the preservation of the continent's energy, technological and industrial security.
He has also stressed the importance of ensuring "industrial competitiveness" by calling for "new synergies".
According to the data provided, in the Basque Countrythere are 140 companies exporting to Poland, particularly in the automotive, smelting and mechanical sectors, and 40 companies based in Poland itself, making Poland one of the top 10 countries on the export map of the Basque Country.
Treaty between Creotech Instruments and Satlantis
In the context of the forum, a cooperation agreement has been signed between the Polish company Creotech Instruments and the Basque company Satlantis for the development of satellites for the programmes of the European Space Agency and the European Union, of the next generation, with high-resolution electrophic and thermal capabilities, the launch of which is planned for the first satellite by 2026.
Among the points of the memorandum is also the consideration of the possibility of forming a society in Poland that would be part of the Satlantis group, in which Creotech would participate as a strategic partner.
The meeting also agreed on a memorandum of understanding between the Basque Internationalization Agency and its counterpart in Poland to strengthen economic and business cooperation.
