The Department of Education of theBasque Government will have a budget of €3,346.5 million in 2026, 3% higher than this year's. Begoña Pedrosa, Education Counsellor, presented this Tuesday afternoon in the Basque Parliament the draft accounts of her Department and highlighted areas such as the increase in staff and the amount to be allocated to inclusion programmes, infrastructure and vocational training.
In the Councillor's speech, these budgets are intended to "strengthen essential public services, focusing on the real problems of citizens".
Pedrosa has stressed that the allocation for staff will increase by 4.84% compared to 2025. This money will be used to "improve working conditions and strengthen staff". The funding for scholarships and supplementary services will be EUR 151 million by 2026, 9.7% more than this year.
The funding of the Haurreskolak Consortium will be increased by EUR 8.6 million, 11.2%.
